Nokia X is a low-budget smartphone that runs on a modified version of Android Jelly Bean (4.1.2). Below are the detailed features and specifications of the device as per official information by the company.
Nokia X runs on 1.0 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Play chipset. It has a 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage, which is expandable up-to 32 GB using the microSD card slot present on board the device. It also has accelerometer, screen rotation and proximity sensor.

In terms of screen, the device has 4 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a WVGA (480 x 800 ) pixels resolution that gives an effective pixel density of about 233 PPI. It is multitouch up to two fingers. As far as the design is concerned, the Nokia X looks quite similar to the Lumia and Asha 500 series of mobiles. It has a polycarbonate with curved edges which make it look quite clean as well as sturdy. Unlike the Ashas or the Lumias, the device doesn’t have Gorilla Glass protection. It weighs about 128 grams and is 10.4 mm thin. It comes in bright red, bright green, yellow, cyan, black and white colors.
The device comes with a 3.15 MP primary rear facing camera without autofocus and LED flash. It can also record videos at 480p. It does not have any front camera.
In terms of multimedia features, the device supports playback of all the common multimedia formats including, 3GP, MP3, MP4, MKV videos up to 1080p resolution. The Nokia X has combined the video player with the gallery and there is no dedicated player for videos in this device.
While Nokia has built its operating system on Android Open Source Project, the Nokia X’s interface looks nothing like it. Its OS appears to be a hybrid of Nokia Asha and Windows phones. It runs on Android v4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) and has Nokia’s Fastlane UI on top of it.
It doesn’t have the Google services like Play Store, Gmail and Google Maps. But it has Nokia Here maps, Nokia Express data efficient browser apart from Nokia play store from where many Android apps can be downloaded. It has messaging features such as SMS, MMS, push mail and IM. It also has HTML browser, Java as well as an FM radio.
The phone encases a 1500 mAh Li-Ion battery. In terms of connectivity features, the device supports GPRS, EDGE, 3G HSDPA – 7.2 Mbps, HSUPA – 5.76 Mbps; Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v3.0 and Micro USB v2.0.
